Superb. Yet, keep in mind I have been nursing mine for several years; chances are, at this price nowadays ($515 or so Canadian), I'll never get a bottle again. On the nose, it is luxuriously spicy and rich - notes of spiced brown sugar, rich toffee, those signature Cognac-esque (think Hennessy XO) notes, all deeper and spicier than the 12. On the palate, it is rich yet smooth, spicy yet silky. The finish could be longer, I suppose, though it's cinnamon/nutmeg spice notes linger...and yet its relative brevity leaves one yearning for the next sip. I used to think the 12 was the ultimate, and pound for pound, it is astoundingly good for its price point. It doesn't help that the 18 has jumped in price by an insane amount, and frankly, as amazing as it is, I don't think the price is justified. If you can try it, it is worth it. If not, the 12 will do.
