Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Rocky
Nose
The resemblance to the Elixir Végétal is immediately obvious, but with the intensity toned down. Mint, caraway and basil stand out.
Palate
As with the nose, it’s a toned-down version of the original recipe, with an enticing mintiness.
Finish
Medium in length with the mint joined by sweet eucalyptus. Comment: Chartreuse Green is very similar to mixing Elixir Végétal with sugared water, but without the same pungency.
Serving suggestion
A versatile liqueur, add one part to nine parts Fentimans Tonic Water for a refreshing summer drink, or add a couple of teaspoons to a mug of hot chocolate for a winter warmer.

Yes I had it first 40 some years ago at a monastery in France I bought a bottle to take home I adored it & now want to enjoy it again!!!
Benedictine's boisterous big brother. Quite pleasant on its own as an aperitif but I go it to try as a cocktail ingredient and for long drinks.
Amazing drink, just been introduced to this and it is fabulous. On our second bottle. Mix it with orange juice and ice. Terrific.
I am on to my second bottle now. Awhile back a French friend of mine told me that the French use it as a fore-cure for a wide variety of ailments. He said if he feels like he is about to get sick (cold/stomach etc) he takes a tablespoon, slowly letting it drip down his throat. The next day its gone or the symptoms minimized. So i tried it and wow, let me tell you it certainly worked for me. It was exactly as he said it was. Most times the symptoms vanished or i didn't get as sick or it lasted perhaps 3 or 4 days. Maybe its a placebo effect or perhaps it really does work but all I can say is I am hooked and I heartily recommend it. Give it a shot!
I have been drinking this for many years and i love it i drink it neat and in hot choclate it makes a great night cap and seems to aid a good nights sleep
