16 Year Old Local Barley
- Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky
- Distillery Bottling
Local Barley was an iconic range of expressions from Springbank discontinued in 2001. The series has been revived and this is the first of five annual releases. Made with barley grown at Low Machrimore Farm in the south of the Kintyre peninsula, this was distilled in September 1999 and aged for 16 years. Sweet with notes of peat, butter tablet and soft fruit.

Producer's Tasting Notes
Nose: Initially sweet and briny before notes of butter shortbread, vanilla, pear drops and raisin develop.
Palate: Sweet and rounded with a very subtle peat influence combining with butter tablet, soft fruit and mineral notes.
Finish: A long evolving finish with notes reminiscent of our earthy dunnage warehouses. The peat is slightly more prominent and integrates well with lighter notes of candy and lemon zest.
