Originally released in France, Sanaig was given a wider release in 2016. Aged in a combination of oloroso-sherry and bourbon casks, this shows excellent balance between peat smoke and sweet citrus flavours.Tasting Notes (1)

Well my first try of Kilchoman whisky what a delight, bourbon and sherry cask. that lovely Islay rich smoke with vanilla and citrus sweetness and toffee with a sweet peat smoke lasting and adding a bit of spice at the end. Great dram
A wonderful smokey, peaty flavour. Delicious.
Gams show it is a young whisky. Immediate strong sherry influence. Very strong sun dried fruits, raisins, sultanas, currants, figs, dried orange and lemon peel, dried apricots, apples, bananas, glacé cherries, pineapple. Vanilla, caramel and peat smoke mainly guaiacol much less ortho, meta & para creosol due to lack of medicinal notes. Has to air for a considerable time, half hour or more to get the most out of the Organoleptic characteristics, otherwise it appears unbalanced. A nice whisky, but in a very competitive market e.g. Ardbeg Uigeadail, Lagavulin 16, neither of which it can compare. Still nice enough
Haven’t tried yet, however was a present for Father’s Day along with Norlan Rauk heavy tumblers- it was safely packaged but I was disappointed to see it without the box or any literature at all.
One of the best, beats Lagavoulin 16.
