The sixth release of Tempest – Bowmore’s cask-strength 10-year-old. Aged in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, the emphasis is on tropical-fruit character. A peaty, smoky and fruity dram with great balance.

Tempest (batch V1) is a welcome addition to my Islay collection. Powerful, and not as peaty as some of its island neighbours, but with fruity sweetness and definitive ocean freshness. A drop of water enhanced my enjoyment.

Got a bottle of this after a distillery tasting. Really love it. A little water is a must to soften the alcohol attack, then leave it a few minutes. You will be rewarded with an incredibly rich, fruity, smoky taste. A real bargain when you look at the price of the Devils Casks at the same abv.
