    Jeremy,

You know the Tomatin distillery dosen't get enough respect – they are very underatted and all their whiskys are very good. I love sweet whiskys and I love the Tomatin 12 so I decided to give the 18 a go. It's a little strong for me but it is still a top-class whisky; it is a little sweet but allot less then the 12. The color and the scent of the 18 is beautiful and the whisky itself is thicker then the 12 but this is still a tasty and really good dram. Definitely if you like whisky somewhere between semi-sweet with a thicker body but not massively strong. Like all Tomatin whisky this is excellent!

    Piotr Stachura,

Tomatin 18 yo Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish 46% vol. Non-chill filtered, natural colour, final maturation in Oloroso Sherry Butts, fully matured whisky from Tomatin. Pleasant bottle design, a great wooden stopper with carved boar. Everything looks elegant and modern. How does the bottle content turn out? I was surprised. Nose: for a start, sweetness, fruit, very intense aroma, no striking alcohol, mild, Sherry elements appear, we get a lot of dried fruit, nice cherries, raisins, dark chocolate, notes of oak and caramel begin to appear. I gave her time in a glass, let her sit in it, the effects are more and more interesting. Honey appears, it becomes slightly buttery, you can feel pralines, nuts, baked apples, oranges, dark grapes and spices, including cinnamon and ginger. I find a note of lemongrass. Complex and rich aroma changing during the time it stay in a glass. Taste: the first impact is - intense honey and raisins, further fruits, cherries, raspberries, oily and malty whisky, a dried plum appears, followed by a bit of oak, ginger and cloves. Chocolate and walnuts are still present. The initial sweetness becomes slightly dry. Finish: warming, long, chocolate-fruity, slightly dry and spicy A great and complex smell, a taste to which I cannot have any complain, finish is the right length, whisky is very well matured. Personally, I like it very much, perfect for autumn evenings, Christmas family gatherings or sipping for pure relaxation. As you will have the opportunity to try it, maybe you will not share my opinion, but the chance that you like it, in my opinion is quite possible??

    Brandon,

Opened this bottle last night with a couple friends. It was very good. I got a green grape on the nose, almost smells like Trolli eggs or Gummy Bears, but it's the grape. Not grape like purple grape soda. It's fresh, green grape scent. the 46% really makes for a great finish, little oaky. When the juice hits the palate , slight burn but then it's gone and sherry fruits come in. Definitely some apple, and I got some cinnamon on the nose after a few sips. I will definitely buy another bottle after this. It'll be interesting to note how this develops as the bottle opens up. Excited for the journey :)
