    Jordan G,

This is a different and interesting whisky. I expect it won its awards not for being undeniably smooth and rich like so many of the classics that sit on the top shelf but because it has such a different and distinctive character whilst also delivering. It is an explosion of crisp apples: light and fruity and with a short finish. It’s so light I’d almost position is as a summer whisky if there is such a thing! This is supposedly down to unusual square shaped stills Glen Grant use that expose the whisky to more copper and as well as the addition of unique purification systems to the stills . For me, it’s a great one to pull out for friends to show them something different and to enjoy a glass of but as I just can’t get away from those rich smooth whiskies, I wouldn’t dive straight for a bottle of this over and above some others out there.

    Fernandez of Goa,

Yes I have tried this excellent 18 year old whiskey thrice, and was shocked to note its vibrant flavour and taste. Amazingly smooth too. Actually, I tried for the one with two glass pack but it isn’t available. I sip it will care to get it’s enriched flavours.

    Wilkin,

Very pleasant, but second best in the world? I’m not so sure.Unlike last year’s 18yo Redbreast which really was special

    Richard Brown,

Beautifully balanced spirit. I was very impressed by the elegance of this dram.
