    Alistair,

Clearly an opinion divider. I was bought this as a gift, and I can confirm that I am struggling with what tastes like a mouthful of smoke. However, there are enough positive reviews to encourage me to stick with it. I certainly wouldn’t drink it on its own, but perhaps with some robust food, it will be more palatable.

    Eduardo Gutierrez,

It's quite lovely, actually, but I sadly suffered from overly elevated expectations from this pour being so popular and me taking so long to try it before the general public consensus made an impression on me. On it's own, it'd be a crime to say anything bad to say about it, although I have a relatively indiscriminate palate when it comes to whisky. All whisky's good whisky (even when it's whiskey ;) ). The saltiness and lemon notes linger quite nicely on the end, but this being an Islay household name I expected to be assaulted by peat, and which was quite subdued all things considered. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to a whisky virgin, but if you're expecting burnt ashtray, tire bonfire, or oak forest fire, you might get the sort of first impression that makes you rate this with 4 stars instead of its (frankly deservedly) 5 stars. The lesson here is: Don't put too much stock or read into what people say, next time just buy the damn bottle of whisky, try it and make up your own mind.

    Mehdi,

As a dedicated fan of Laphroaig, I can attest that this Islay single malt is an exceptional whisky. Its intense smokiness, combined with notes of peat, iodine, and a hint of sweetness from the Bourbon casks, creates a complex and satisfying flavor profile. Each sip transports me to the rugged coasts of Islay, where tradition and craftsmanship shine through. For me, Laphroaig 10 is not just a drink but a journey through powerful and elegant tastes and aromas.

    David,

Really enjoyed this smoky single malt. I find myself yearning for a similar but more complex whiskey

    Nathan,

Simply excellent. Best malt out there in my opinion. I hate when people say that whisky was so bad they dumped it down the drain. If you were a true whisky fan, you wouldn't do it. You would try it with a mixer or a hot toddy or something and if you really didn't get on with it then, give it to somebody else, don't waste it! Im really not a fan of speyside malts but if I get given one as a gift and I don't like it, I'll mix it with ginger ale or old fashioneds and it's drinkable. As for this one in particular, if you're into big smokey, iodine, sweet, salty, well balanced Islay malts and haven't tried this. I'd recommend you do. This is my number one whisky of all whiskies available. If you have tried this and loved it. Try Lore. Again a cracking malt, a bit like 10 but amped up a bit
