There's a reason L10 is regarded as one of the foundational Islays. It's a beautifully rich, oily, iodiney dram which puts hairs on your chest. Surprisingly smooth with it too. Anyone into peaty Islay whiskies needs a bottle of this on standby.

Absolutely my favorite dram! Love it! For me it is like eating a vanilla ice cream after enjoying a barbecue at sunset on the beach. Life wouldn't be better than that.

This is another great Islay and one of my favorites. As with all peated whisky, for me, the medicinal smoky iodine, pepper and tar will hit hard at first. A little bit of cold water(I add about 15 to 20 drops) swirl it and L-10 opens up wide and wonderful - at least it does for me. My only complaints for L-10......I don't like green glass or added coloring.

The reference(s) to TCP and Jayes Fluid are spot-on. But... this is what makes this whisky so, so special. My dear mother always says 'it smells like TCP...' and, yes, in a subtle way, it absolutely does. But it's one of the all-time classic Islay malts. It's absolutely beautiful in its peaty simplicity.
