Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Tim F

    • Nose

Rich demerara notes, golden syrup & creamy vanilla. Oh, and a fistful of smoky peat.

    • Palate

Pepper & spice, iodine, brine, and of course that intense coal - the best signifier of Laphroaig to look for when tasting blind. Fiery, with woodsmoke also very prominent.

    • Finish

Lasting, peppery peat and lovely, lengthy rich malt.

    • Comment

The star turn in the Laphroaig range. On this evidence it's not difficult to see why this was voted 'Best Single Malt in the World' in Whisky Magazine's 'Best of the Best' in 2005.
