Product Description
The distillery was reopened in 2004 after being closed for almost 80 years. This lightly peated 12-year-old was the first core release from Kilkerran, aged in a combination of 70% bourbon casks and 30% sherry casks. You can expect aromas of cherry, meringue and a dash of peat on the nose, complemented by thicky palate and notes of butterscotch, shortbread biscuit and honeycomb.
This is a great-value Campbelltown whisky that you can actually buy easily. There's a lovely balance of fruit and smoke, with an excellent oily texture. And it makes a great highball. Kieran Rocks, The Whisky Exchange

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Producer's Tasting Notes
Nose
Oak notes are dominant, followed by toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding, as well as cherries, marzipan and a hint of peat.
Palate
Initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel, after this: vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits can all be tasted and enjoyed.
Finish
Velvet and smooth with lemon meringue, to conclude, there’s an oiliness and a saltiness that you’d expect from a Campbeltown dram.

In my opinion this is the best whisky you can buy for the money, fabulously well balanced malt.
Sadly I have to say this is a great whisky, nothing else needs to be added. Great job packers.
For me this might be better than Springbank and easy to get your hands on. It’s got a slight smoke and loads of butterscotch. It’s close to Glen Scotia 15 but I’d say this has the edge. Very very nice!! I’ll be exploring some other bottles from Kilkerran.
One of the best value bottles out there, with every release being slightly different too keep it interesting. Lovely
This is what I expected from Campbeltown. Got the similar good things of Springbank. Good second choice to Springbank.
