One of the first pair of entries in the Glenfiddich Experimental Series – a whisky finished in casks seasoned with India Pale Ale. The Speyside Craft Brewery created a special beer which was aged in ex-Glenfiddich casks for a month before they were returned to the distillery and filled with whisky for a three-month finishing period. The result is a vibrant and fruity dram.Tasting Notes (1)
India Pale Ale Beer Finish
Tasting Notes by Billy Abbott (TWE)
Candy necklaces, barley sugar, lemon zest, brioche, milky cornflakes (with a sprinkling of white sugar), dried apple rings, soft cinnamon and a dusting of nutmeg.
Oily texture with rich vanilla toffee and lemon cream to start. A green leafiness sits at the centre, surrounded by oaky spice, Shreddies, cocoa and floral hints – almost like rose-water-infused chocolate...
Freshly crushed malt, Ovaltine, Cocoa Puffs and hints of damp green leaves.
Not a beer-flavoured whisky, but one that sits alongside the beer and shares some flavour ideas – floral touches, fruit and a hint of green leafiness. A great dram.

A really nice dram. The ale cask gives a nice texture to the whisky. This gives a clean tang to the palate. Definitely worth trying.
Fun product, a refreshing whisky drink especially made as suggested by the card in the package.
I was sceptical when I purchased this product, I wasnt much of a Glenfiddich fan but oh my I was blown away with the vast flavours and sweetness this bottle has! I've recommended to all my friends that they should try this product and it is my current go to Scotch
Gross. Genuinely couldn't drink this stuff. It tastes like a rye whiskey.
Bought this as a gift for a relative we were staying with in Inverness. First impression was that it was fiery to the point of almost being harsh. The nose had green apple and faint hops coming through and the taste again was faint hops and faint citrus but not lasting at all. It was disappointing to the extent that we decided to try it again the following morning with no chance of the taste being affected by other food or drink. Again disappointment. We then tried it with a splash of water and it definitely improved it by making it much softer and allowing slightly more taste to break through. I had high hopes for the IPA as I like Glenfiddich but was disappointed with this offering. There is no age listed on the bottle but I suspect it must be very young. Add water to optimise it is my advice.
