Nose
Bacon bits, sea spray, pine trees, ferns and mulchy leaves, all backed up by a slab of spice and damp smoke. Water adds in oily notes as well as bung cloth, dunnage warehouse and touches of creosote.

Palate
Ash, sea-drenched rocks and smoky, cast-iron hearths. Sweetness rolls through the centre, with smoky salted caramel and sweet tea balanced out by tarred ropes and more of the bung cloth from the nose. Water brings out sweet black liquorice and softens the smoke.

Finish
Toffee, honey, tar and spicy smoke.

A bit of a beast which takes water well. It’s got all the smoky seaside character of previous years with great sweetness.

Classic Lagavulin - on steroids! Classic Islay nose, initial tar, tobacco, sweet fruit, and then the long, long aftertaste of smoke. Wonderful!

Great long taste. A bit more muscle than previous years. Don't bother trying a lesser Single Malt after you have had this one. I think that you will be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing! Very smooth at first, then a sudden explosion of smoke. Long aftertaste - sits very well with me overall!

Always a stunner !!a little sweeter than previous years but that's a nice thing. And it does feel like a beach bonfire in your mouth. Magnificent !!!
