Heavy hitter alcohol wise. Full bodied but lacking smoothness. Overall pretty rough, better drinking to be had elsewhere
Excellent taste. Really enjoyed it.
One of my favourite malts. Better by far than the majority of more well known malts.
Dear lord is this bad. Toothpaste and to much wood bitter. Even after a week, off putting If you like immature hot spirits this is for you
An aromatic, well-balanced whisky that is easy to drink and appreciate. Also good value for the price.
nice percentage with 48% bottled, but thats about it, unappealing nose, even worse in mouth, thx but no thx
the beest malt for me.Smooth, not too heavy and perfect with a dribble of cold water.Makes the big controlled distillers look what they are.Pandering to everyones taste & consequently satisfying no one.Eat your heart out Glenmorangie/Fiddich & Livet. This is real malt as it should be.
Glen Garioch at their best, for me the best in their range
Tastes a little young. The finish could be more smooth. That said, pretty good malt for the price. It reminds me of rye (dry and spicy), in a good way. Nose: alcohol vapors (!), then it reveals menthol followed by honey Palate: tinge of honey, followed by dry eucalyptus, nutmeg and peppermint Finish: vanilla, oak, and even some orange blossom peaks through, quickly followed by a dry pepper that gives a little too much bite. Overall rating: 7.5/10
I have to agree with S. Bennetto. Love the whisky, but really wished they kept the Stagg!! So much tradition thrown away. Very sad to see.......
I went to this distillery on my honeymoon 2 weeks ago and you can't go wrong with this brand. The 12 year old is amazingly good, but the Founder's Reserve is excellent as well. I highly recommend either.
A shame they removed the stag from the labels when they revamped he bottles. A real loss if you ask me!
Read: Glen Gaeriee. No age statement - it is 7-8yo. Waiting for a 12yo edition in years to come:)
