The only value option we have since Laphroaig watered down the 10 year. I like it, and much better than the 40% 10 year. Go for the cask strength if you want something close to what 10 year used to be like, unfortunately the price is double now.

I didn’t like at first. But it grew on me and now i always have a bottle at home. Delicious!

So... I tried this one after seeing some reviews and went on it with mixed feelings. I think that overall it was nice... A bit harsh on the nose but still recognisable Laphroaig character with a lot of smokiness. Tastewise the wood was overpowering at first followed by a lot of sweetness and the smoke was present all the way through. I didnt think that anything was to bad or tasted like asphalt as i read in some reviews although i thought at some point that the taste was a bit to chemical. Let me say that though when i diluted my pour with about 1-2 ml water it opened up and i enjoyed it a lot. All in all it was ok worth the taste but for sure the 10yr old is untouchable by the quarter cask.
