A very long-aged Armagnac from boutique producer Clos Martin's 1989 vintage. Unusually, this has been produced entirely from the little-seen Folle Blanche grape variety.
More from Clos Martin
A near-perfect drink, if ever there was one. I'm sad that Clos Martin no longer does the Folle Blanche-only XO, but this is testament to the fact they do know what they're going. Rich with ripe, succulent fruits, toasted nuts and grains, piquant grape, old leather, chocolate, and Parma violets. Smooth and refined, with a biscuity, tarte-tatin aftertaste. Buy 2 so you can drink one and keep the other!
