Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes From the Producer

    • Nose

Fresh fruit and toffee apple; an integration of ripe orchard fruits (apples and pears), berries and a hint of citrus, layered above a background of sweet wood and creamy vanilla fudge.

    • Palate

Rich creamy mouthfeel, toffee apple, caramelised sugars, soft fruits and a gentle wood presence. With water, fresher fruits become more pronounced on the nose (Bramley apple, Conference pear), alongside grape skin, green pear and more wood spice. Subtle, distant spices help carry the fruit and vanilla characters, giving a long and creamy finish.

    Joel Friedlander,

I have it on my bookcase shelf for easy access. This is a nice drinking Scotch. It is a well made blend. Good price too. Have it with an old friend. I recommend it.

    Peter,

I picked up a bottle recently. The smell and taste is overwhelmingly alcohol, not a lot of subtle flavors. Even a small amount gives me a pretty bad headache the morning after.

    Len,

Tried this for the first time on Monday. I suppose the best thing to say is this is going home to Canada with me tomorrow. Lovey nose little heavy on citrus, fruity with a soft lingering after taste.

    USN_ElHefe,

Good blend for the price point, but not sure if it's something I'd go for again. Flavor profile as listed and described here is accurate, but incomplete. Although notes of fruit and toffee are present at first with a finish of a hint of apple, it seems to fall flat to the palate. At 40% ABV, it's a subtle but present burn on the swallow that is noticeably smooth. Again, for the price it is well worth a go. Still favor the single malts of Speyside against this blend, but as far as blends go, this is well balanced.
