Ever tried a whisky aged in chestnut wood before? We thought not! This also spends time in bourbon and sherry casks, adding layers of Christmas spices and tropical fruit. Absolutely delicious.Tasting Notes (1)
- Stewed Fruit
Tasting Notes by Stuart P
Rich and warming, with Christmas spices, honey and dried orange peel.
Initial blast of sweet fruit – intense candied fruit and stewed apple. Lovely mouthcoating texture with fragrant citrus and spicy cinnamon.
Rich and long-lasting; lovely balance of fruit and spice.
My personal favourite of the Method and Madness range. Rich, fruity and spicy – everything I look for in a single pot still whiskey.
More from Method and Madness
One of the most singularly unique whiskies I've ever had, and yet still quintessentially Irish. Notes of banana smoothie on the nose, and notes of wormwood and Angostura bitters on the mid palate. The whisky is simple upon opening for the first time but it does open up quite significantly after being oxidized slightly. Definitely worth your money.
By far the best Irish whiskey in my opinion.
A thoughtful friend bought me a bottle for my 70th birthday - I have been drinking Irish whiskey for more than 50 years and currently have a bottle of 18-year-old Jameson’s in stock for Christmas Day. What a lovely surprise. Never heard of it (I can’t believe I didn’t know about this) and it is absolutely delicious. Nice to nose as well by the way. About to order a bottle from TWE. A delightful addition to the Irish whiskey oeuvre.
Quite possibly the most unique whiskey I've had in the range. It's all good, something to be cherished.
Buttery, fruity, savory, a bit nutty, with a hint of coriander. The finish is pleasantly tannic. Absolutely unique and delicious!
