    Jonathan,

    Contrary to what previous reviewers have said, this is not a spiced rum. It is an ordinary dark rum, not the greatest but far from the worst. I am glad I tried it.

    I fell in love with Takamaka Rum while in the Seychells. I've met the family, the cat and their giant turtles, Taka and Maka. I have had a tour of the distillery on Mahe and was lucky enough to have dinner at La Plaine St. Andre. I carried as much duty free back as I was allowed and I was extremely happy to learn you could buy this in the UK.

    Very smooth up there with mount gay and company (my opinion)pricey in s.a but good stuff never comes cheap-give it a whirl if you can
