One of the nicest whiskeys I’ve tasted

I would describe this is a 'wild teenager'. Young, bit aggressive, with sherry notes. I really like it!

Picked it up on special offer at my local supermarket. I don't usually go for NAS whisky but at £25 I thought it was worth a punt. Unsurprisingly it's a bit young on the nose, lots of cereal notes with a bit of banana bread thrown into the mix. On first taste it feels a bit narrow on the palate, even at 46% this isn't a whisky that explodes in the mouth. A big hit of seaweed up front, and initially I found it a bit tart, akin to a Laphroaig that had lost all the smokiness but kept the astringency. It does open up after a few minutes in the hand, and notes of vanilla and melon start to break through. 3/5 at the price I paid for it, but at full price I would struggle to recommend it.

Well for the price is unbeatable. Real whisky natural product.. 46% abv..respect.. it needs 5-10 minutes in the glass and there you go..as for the palate is up to anyones likes. For me is a real gem.. sweet but not to much..sea salt..slightly fruity..vanilla..barley..cinnamon ..this is a very balance whisky..i had maybe 6-7 bottles so far.. don’t need to say more..lovely stuff

Excellent NAS whisky. Without water, the nose is filled with salt, nuts and dried fruits, with some sweetness and sherry. I smells a little like fruit cake or a christmas pudding to me. The palate is rich and flavourful, with sweetness, saltiness, spicy, dried fruits and nuts. I think the sweetness is more prominent on the palate than the nose, converser I think the nuttiness is slightly milder on the palate than the nose. With water the salt and nuttiness is brought out on the nose whilst the palate has more prominent dried fruit flavours and sweetness. With and without water the finish is moderate and fruity. I really enjoyed this whisky, it's a fantastic NAS whisky, although it lacks the depth and smoothness that time in the cask brings.
