Product Description
Laphroaig Four Oak is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a blend of whisky matured in four different types of cask: ex-bourbon barrels, small quarter casks, virgin American oak barrels and European oak hogsheads.

Mild smokey expression and as you progress it makes you respect the Four Oaks. Not bad at all....
"Four different casks that gives you the feeling of drinking whisky out of a dirty ashtray." Haha you've got to laugh at some people. I wonder how they think most whisky is comprised, and indeed how every blended whisky is comprised. More than a pinch of placebo effect going on here. Something tells me if they didn't know it was from four cask types they'd have evaluated it honestly. Funny how much psychology factors into taste and perception. A good expression, nicely blended and something different form Laphroaig. Packs less punch but not everything has to hit hard.
It's the first ever Laphroaig I've had, so unfortunately it's hard to make a comparison. I'm quite satisfied with this single malt. Yes, it's not complex at all, heavy smoke, and a little sweetness together with oak spiciness behind. Not what you'd expect from a combination of four cask types, but as well it's not as horrible as some connoisseurs wrote in the comments. Still have big expectations from other Laphroaigs.
Not up to the Laphroaig name. I’ve tried just about every Laphroaig available, have a cabinet full of them and most other Islays and this is the worst I’ve had. As someone else said below, it literally tastes dirty, like licking an ashtray. No nuance, no layers, just ash and dirt with a hint of peat on the nose. Absolute trash.
Deeply disappointing. Four different casks that gives you the feeling of drinking whisky out of a dirty ashtray. Flavor has no complexity at all. There's lots of cheaper options that are way better than the Four Oak.
