Hey there folks, Big Mike again. After having purchased the EW White several more times since my last review , I am still thrilled with the product . Delicious spice on the nose. Oak and Carmel on the palate with a smooth, satisfying finish. I am upgrading the rating to 5 stars . Well deserved ! And what you pay is VERY fair. Sweet deal for the overall package. This Bottled in Bond bourbon is great value, great taste, and a real taste of genuine Kentucky hospitality . ?
Fantastic bourbon ! The taste is a delicious . The finish is oooo so smooth. Nice and oaky on the backend. For its strength at 100 proof, I do not find this to be harsh or too " hot". For the asking price it is a real steal. I really enjoy this one.
Picked up a few BiB bottles. I was interested in the concept and they seemed to offer value in this crazed unicorn world. I'm a novice and my review reflects this. I get caramel / vanilla on the nose. More on the palate along with what I can only describe as nutty. It's hot at 50% I added two drops of water and it brought out some general citrus. Cracking value. Smart bottle. I'm a fan. The EW Single Barrel 2004 is a freak bottle. Few bottles compare. But the White Label is solid. Better than solid. It's refreshingly honest and straight up good whiskey.
Bottled in Bond is a legal definition. Under US Federal law to be Bottled in Bond, it must be distilled by the same distiller at the same distillery in the same distilling season. It is required to be aged in new charred oak barrels for a minimum of 4 years under federal supervision. It can only be bottled at 100 proof (50% abv). This is one of the true hidden gems of American whiskey. You cannot beat the price. Nose is somewhat hot with brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Palate is sweet with some smoke. Vanilla is present a long with some cinnamon maybe allspice. The finish is lingering with some heat but also those spices appear giving a "red hot candy" taste. My favorite bourbon whiskey
