A deep gold-colour rum that’s more like gold dust. This premium rum from the Foursquare distillery is made by blending three vintages (2004, 2005, 2007) from three different types of cask (bourbon, Madeira, virgin oak): hence the name Triptych.
The result is an exceptionally balanced rum with wood, charcoal and spice aromas, leading into flavours of olives, sweet liquorice, tropical fruit, dates, apricot and oak with a velvety mouthfeel.

One of the most complex bottlings of Foursquare, somehow under the radar but almost as good as their famous Destino! 5 stars!

4.5 and up! Don't be put off by the intense burn on the nose as this still very pleasant rum to drink at 56% abv. Everything is well balanced from the mouth feel and palate burn to the flavor and finish... the only real drawback I can find is that the nose is overpowered a bit by the alcohol burn. The flavor is complex and a bit hard to pin point all of the specific notes... I get light fresh oak, a variety of dry stone fruit, a hard to distinguish brine note as well as the traditional vanilla, sweet molasses like notes found in quality rum. The finish is extraordinary... this rum has a numbing effect on the palate that is delightful with a light citrus and very light licorice note appearing in the finish along with a very light and suprisingly pleasant ethanol note. This rum is special and I think Triptych is superior to Criterion, in my personal opinion, as Criterion is good but not as complex and has a very strong, somewhat unpleasant, chest burn that Triptych doesn't have at the same abv.

Great rum with plenty of fruits, cocoa powder, liquorice, some olives, a little brine. Nice texture & great mouthfeel. Do recommend it !
