Glencadam 13 Year Old Reviews
Tasting notes by Billy Abbott (The Whisky Exchange)
Nose: Honey and honeysuckle, with sweet and candied touches: candy bracelets and dried apple rings. Green grass builds underneath, with creamy touches and gentle spice.
Palate: Sweet butter and freshly cut grass lead into butterscotch and sharp Granny Smith apples with a thin toffee shell. Leafiness appears at the back, balancing a greenness against sweet spice. Pear drops, vanilla cream and touches of clove float on top.
Finish: Apples and cinnamon fade to reveal menthol and mint, before damp bark and soft aniseed appear and then slowly disappear.
Comment: It's very much like classic Glencadam, but with some differences: lighter and fresher than expected, it still shows the distillery's toffee-and-flowers character.
