- Irish Single Malt Whiskey
Tyrconnell was a two-year-old chestnut colt that, against the odds, won the National Produce Stakes Horse Race in 1876. This achievement was initially commemorated in a small-batch whiskey made by the local Watts family and now again, 140 years later, in this new limited-edition single malt.
Tyrconnell 16 Year Old Reviews
Tasting notes from the producerNose: Plenty of fruit, melon, green fruit, candied pear, vanilla custard and coconut.
Palate: Initially oily and viscous followed by the inevitable fruit explosion, finishing with a dry almond coating.
Finish: A very long, herbal, spice-rich finish.

My nose thought it was great; palate: smooth; finish: was a smile on my face and all who tried it with me.
The best, smoothest yet. I was going to treat myself... then I saw the cost. What a gift!
