Product Description
The core of the Jura range, aged for 12 years in bourbon casks and then finished in Oloroso sherry. The result blends the distillery's characteristic gently smoky character with sweetness, spice and dark fruit. A great introduction to Jura.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting notes by Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Smouldering cocoa nibs and rich rice pudding. Baked apples follow, sprinkled with spice and raisins, and drizzled with creamy chocolate sauce. Leathery touches develop.
Palate
Rich and rounded, with an initial burst of barrel char halted by milk-chocolate-covered raisins and toffee sauce. The char rumbles along behind, rising at the end with a plume of soft peat smoke.
Finish
Smoky bonfire-baked apples fade to leave a hint of mint and menthol.

Probably one of the worst whiskys I’ve tasted. I’ve had other Juras that I love but this is appalling. There’s a terrible aftertaste that makes you feel you’ve drunk an oily ashtray.
As a fan of the superstition & 10yo I thought I'd give this a try. It's a nice easy sipping dram but abit underwhelming to say the least. It needs a drop of water to open it up, fruity on the nose & palate to start, turning mildy smoky, notes of burnt liquorice & cocoa on the mid to finish. Not bad but definitely prefer the 10 & it's cheaper?
First impression was of conflicting flavours vying for attention. They didn't quite fit together. I added a splash of cold water and that was it. Not sure what alchemy happened but it did the trick. Achieved a delicious balance after that. Very enjoyable. Sweet and smoky.
If you enjoy cough syrup you will love this potion. At first sip it has flavour, warmth with sweetness, almost wants to give you a hug but confusion sets in as it turns into sharp finish with medicine like finale. that’s when you look at the glass you just drank from and ask yourself, why did I pay for this? More confusion, you pour another glass. Enjoy?
