Wow! Another great single malt from Smokehead. It says it's same "smoke" as the regular one yet I think it's a bit less... You can feel it here but it's not so overwhelming. Yet I disagree with "richness - 2"; to me it's a bit reacher... Very tasty and well ballanced. Strength? Thought would be even stronger - think because despite the "power" it's still very smooth. Having swallowed you can feel the strenght deep in your throat. And much likely due to the power the aftertaste lasts a bit shorter. Nonetheless - excellent; love it.
I was bought this whisky as a present by a friend who knows,I am a smoky peaty afficionado. Have to say this is something else again,first taste gives you a bang on the head and a mouth full of intense smokiness followed by a pop of salted caramel and a lingering tast of the sea.This is my new favourite and will take a lot of beating at this price.
Hate the packaging, but me oh my the whisky is exceptional, current favorite Islay
Got a bottle of Smokehead High Voltage for my Birthday and have to say it's a really nice drink.
Ian Macleod has produced an extraordinary whisky with High Voltage. Very booze and smooth at 58% alcohol. I've always loved Islay single malts but this is my favourite. Well worth the price.
