Frerejean Freres was founded by three brothers whose family history is entrenched in the region – indeed, their ancestors led the battle to repel the Prussians in Champagne. The family's military history is reflected in the name of their top cuvée, which pays tribute to the Imperial Guard Cavalry.
This is a herbaceous wine with powerful lemon peel notes. It needs time in the glass to open up. The palate is very concentrated with lots of citrus fruit and a long, dry, slightly saline finish. Dawn Davies MW
