Port Charlotte's long-awaited 10 year old, rich and smoky whisky made by the independently minded folks at Bruichladdich distillery on Islay. PC, as it's known to its friends, is heavily peated to 40ppm, putting it up with Islay's other heavy hitters. The resulting whisky is big and peaty with a maritime tang – the Bruichladdich team would claim that it's because their warehouses are so close to the sea, we're still undecided. In the end, the most important thing is the taste: it's rather good.Tasting Notes (1)

Toffee and vanilla fudge jump out before we dive into a bucket of singed raisins and smouldering peat bricks. Green grass and leafy notes poke out around the edges along with candied lemons and flamed orange peel.
A sweet creamy hit up front leads into lemon boiled sweets. black-pepper spice and a thick layer of peaty smoke. The green edges from the nose are back, with richer notes of stewed apples and sultanas, and a touch of vanilla toffee.
Menthol throat sweets and sweet smoke slowly fade to leave grilled apples and buttery pastry.

A beautifully crafted malt. Smooth easy drinking each and every glass a very comforting experience. Most excellent product.
Big smoke but also fruit, there's loads going on. Its powerful but really well balanced and rich and smooth. Absolutely delicious!
I'm happy and wonderfully surprised. The rich taste is not intense and revelling of smoke aromas but rather a good mix of sweet lemon grass with lithe salt. I like it
My Second bottle as felt I may have missed something first time around and yes I did! I am an Ardbeg man mainly with some Glenturret chucked in ...but on refelctiin this is absolute knockout... beuatiful balance between smoke and cream and citrus.... deffo up their and able to play in the big boys league ...
Port Charlotte 10 yr. Just tried for the first time, it was fantastic!! Best ever. Our ancestors came from Isle of Rum, so must be why I loved so much.
