This is the old wooden box presentation of Royal Lochnagar's prestigious Selected Reserve, which was phased out around 2008. A very drinkable dram.

I was a bartender in The Westbury,The Hyde Park Hotel, The Carlton Tower, The Royal Garden Hotel, and the De Vere Hotel, also The Cadogan Hotel and my favourite scotch was always this one both for my costumers and myself [when off duty]

Beautifully smooth, tingles the tongue, smokey with a sweet and lightly spicy aftertaste, best whisky I have ever had the pleasure to drink.

RL is the largest contributing malt to the JW Blue blend. Hope that ends the debate. Frankly I'd rather have a glass of the RL select or the 25 but at this level its all pretty spectacular

The most enjoyable single malt I've ever had....warm amber color with a smooth buttery flavor. It's a good thing I'm not wealthy because I'd have it for breakfast
