18 Year Old Xtra Old Particular
- Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
- Douglas Laing
One of only 323 bottles, this 18-year-old Laphroaig is every bit as smoky as you'd expect. An extravaganza of well-spiced, barbecued meat and fresh fruit is spread luxuriously upon the seashore. Stony minerality and brine mesh with a touch of tobacco and bitterness into the lingering finish.
Laphroaig 1999 Reviews
Producer's notesOpens sweet and ashy on the nose, with charred marinated meat and peat smoke balanced with fruit and spices. Initially sweetly spiced on the palate, then smoke, rock pools and BBQ ashes. The finish is long, with dark chocolate, spices and dried dates but with lingering cigar ashes.
