Green Spot 2006 Reviews
Tasting notes by Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Nose: Creamy toffee, zesty lemon and a touch of the tropical – unripe mango, white melon and banana. Apples and pears build from below, fresh and baked, with a sprinkling of spice and a squeeze of lemon juice. With some time in the glass, notes of spiced sponge cake emerge, topped with sultanas and pineapple: buttery, sweet and fruity.
Palate: Sweet and candied at first, with gummi chews, dried apple rings, and a touch of cinnamon gobstopper and aniseed ball. The fruit becomes fresh, with apples, pears, singed pineapple and the mango from the nose rolling across the palate. Creamy toffee and polished oak follow behind.
Finish: Spicy toffee and sponge cake fade to leave fresh fruit.
Comment: A zesty and zingy whiskey, packed with sharp and sweet fruit, all painted on a canvas of cream and spice.
