    In a blind taste test, I was severely disappointed with this one, and thought it was a much cheaper brand! Lighter floral aromas at first, but sultanas (not quite raisin) became more promenent. In the tasting, the raisin came through, with maple syrup creeping in. The floral aromas translated well into the flavour, with the acidity of kiwis and melon. It was a little too spicy/hot for me, and cinammon and bitter ginger came into play for the after taste. Overall, I actually gave this a 4/10!!!! I much prefer a 12 yo Doorly's or a Pusser's!

    El Dorado is the best rum in the world. Its history and flavour have been tailored since the early 20th Century and this brand is a leader in the field. Of course, the rum tastes better as you elevate from 5 year, 12, 15 to 21. Worth the wait in gold for El Dorado...

    It's a fine drink, no question. Not as sweet as the 15yo and seems more natural. Maybe the 15 yo has some sugar added, but it seems the richest tasting. The 12 yo tastes fine too, but gives me a headache. Still, for me a good malt or Cognac in this price range is seems like a better choice.

    Can't say I liked it very much. Too sweet for me. Better I'll go back to single malts.
