Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Butterscotch, green tea and honey followed by almonds, candied orange peel, ginger and clove.

    • Palate

Rich barley sugar before notes of dry spice: cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.

    • Finish

Soft spice and barley sugar slowly fade.

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

    • Nose

Enticing aromas of butterscotch, almond, green tea, honey and candied orange peel, then fuller notes of ginger, clove and liquorice arrive.

    • Palate

Rich barley sugar at first, then spicy notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Warm Bakewell tart, a touch of cherry menthol and aromatic ginger.

    • Finish

The soft spices and barley sugar gently fade.

    • Comment

What really impresses is the balance and level of spicing on show. Some spiced rums crank up the vanilla sweetness too much, but this is just right, with the spices allowed to shine.

    Anonymous,

Nicest Spiced Rum I have tasted to date.

  • Sabrina and JR, 3rd Feb '13,

Absolutely the Best Spiced Rum available! Just glad we now have a VERY reliable source to order it from. Trips and Cruise Itinerarys to Barbados just for Foursquare was getting expensive!!!! Besides it just made my Anniversary even more exciting as he opened this gift!

  • Anonymous,

Much Better than morgans spiced IMO, but I'm not a fan of the "medicinal" taste that morgans has, quite close to the original Sailor Jerrys

  • Bajan Bohemian,

Well you can't go wrong with a good Bajan rum and the Foursquare distillery is always a safe bet. Better than the Morgan spiced although harder to find.
