Probably one of if not the best rum you get for that price range

Hmm…seems to be some confusion over whether this is sweetened or has additives or not. Well, either way it tastes like it does. I’m not someone who adds anything to my drinks like coke etc; if you do that you might as well buy the cheapest crap on the shelf and not bother trying to review it. As for this rum… Artificial vanilla flavour on the nose first of all (you want it in the taste from the sugars, which you don’t get), mild initial taste, again vanilla but clearly not from the sugars or the barrel, a bit soapy, a bit melon, not unpleasant but quickly fades as it’s overtaken by the alcohol all too quickly, then you’re left with the aftertaste of artificial flavour (melon?) and sweetener. So overall it’s a mediocre blend made passable through fiddling with additives to get it over the line, but it doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. In hindsight, maybe I will have that drop of coke after all, and rue that I could have saved £20 by adding that coke to a glass of Havana Club 8 year old instead. Tsk…this is what happens after you drink Foursquare, sorry folks!

Beautifully smooth. If you like a good Cuban rum then this is for you! Exceptionally good value for money. There are rums out there that are double and even triple the cost of this bottle but are vastly inferior. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

I am trying types I would not normaly, I have always added a mixer but that doesnt need to be the case this can be sipped and enjoyed as I did.
