The sixth edition of Compagnie des Indes's 'Cannonball' rum is a blend of aged rums from Nicaragua and Panama, which - as per the tradition of this series - has been aged in casks that previously held peated Islay whisky. This six month spell in peated casks has added subtle smoky flavours to the fruity and vegetal rum. This is a great rum for whisky fans who are interested in dipping a toe into cane spirits.

    I was intrigued by this rum having enjoyed others by the same company. I am very disappointed. It is so peaty that there is little to suggest it is a rum. My impression was it is nearer to an overdone whisky. Not a good buy
