    • Nose

      Rich and sweet with concentrated notes of stewed red apples, homemade orange marmalade, honey, cinnamon and moist juicy sultanas.

    • Taste

      Incredibly smooth and fruity with flavours of poached pears intermingled with butterscotch and caramel toffees all rolled up in a wonderful velvety texture.

    • Finish

      Rounded off with a touch of vanilla on the finish.

    Lovely smooth and enjoyable whisky at a very reasonable price. Will definitely be buying another bottle.

    Not much of a nose on first pour but with air in bottle this improves, nice mouthfeel, flavours of caramel at bottom, pears at top, vanilla in middle and on aftertaste. Nice and smooth. I expect a few more things will appear. Maybe red apples in there too. a drop of water produces a bit of brandy on nose and in mouth... but it roughens up the smoothness slightly.. i'm not sure its the best to way as it does improve after a few days with air in bottle(a bit like George Dickel) .. For the price, its a winner tho.. 44.5/5 for me.

    I really love this whisky. Most other scotches get sweetness from caramel, toffee, honey, etc. which I find rather heavy. What I really love about this whisky is that it gets most of its sweetness from fruit flavours which is really refreshing and enjoyable. Good going, Chivas Regal! I really don't understand the reasons for the negative comments/ reviews . All your whiskies are excellent but the XV is the best! Well done!
