The world’s first exclusively-bottled Mount Gay rum: cask-strength and blended from both pot- and column-still spirit from the Mount Gay distillery. This is a big and bold Barbadian rum, the island’s tropical Caribbean climate dialling Mount Gay's classic, naturally-sweet butterscotch and tropical fruit flavours up to 11, and adding layers of complexity and nuance. Aged for seven years and blended from carefully selected casks, it balances fruity spirit against sweet and spicy oak for a rum sure to appeal to whisky connoisseurs just as much as rum fans. Tasting notes from Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Intense brown sugar, sultana fruitiness and flaky pastry – a Portuguese custard tart filled with raisin jam. Roasted banana notes follow, liberally dusted with cinnamon and nutmeg, with a hints of tarry black liquorice hiding underneath. Then more fruit rolls in: candied peel and stewed apples with lots of sugar and spice.
Creamy bananas to start – both rich and ripe and dunked in a banana cream pie – with lashings of nutmeg and hot cinnamon. As the heat subsides, the brown-sugar-encrusted pastry from the nose appears, along with sweet banoffee and a touch of balancing barrel-char bitterness. Hints of Juicy Fruit chewing gum sit at the back along with dark liquorice pastilles and rich caramel.
Sugar and spice, with a touch of musky green leaves and lingering banana – lightly tannic and not quite ripe.
It's Mount Gay dialled up to 11. Rich, thick, spicy and sweet, with layers of complexity and nuance – a proper sipping rum.

I bought this a few months ago and waited for a special occasion to open it, it is fantastic so much flavour so many hidden notes that you wouldn't expect. I highly recommend getting this, for the whiskey exchange have a classic ?? well done
I have to say it's a delicious mixing rum with a good 60/40 mix rum to mixer with some Fever Tree Ginger beer and its perfect. But, if you're looking for something to sip on the rocks or neat this has just not been aged enough at 7 years old its still on the young side.
Tried this at the end of the whisky of the year tasting. Absolutely superb stuff. Certainly can hold its own against a whisky of a similar price. Whether its a good price for a rum though I can't be sure.
