Try this rich and sherried edition of Mortlach 16 Year Old Distiller’s Dram with our Perfect Measure sample. A mixture of first-fill and refill sherry casks give this whisky a broad sherry cask character, with aromas of raisins and apple pies, dark fruitcakes and rich spice develop slowly. The palate gives notes of brown sugar, apples, and sweet raisin, balanced by gentle barrel char and sharp orchard fruits.

    Sherry, toffee, herbaceous on the nose. Caramel, salty, savoury, sticking plasters, straw, sour, lot’s going on. Bit full on alcohol hit but not burning. Finish is smooth and complex but overall savoury for me.

    I've had this before, its a damn good whisky, full flavoured and as they say...it is the beast of Dufftown. I would prefer if it were non chill filtered and no caramel, just to see if it tastes any better but apart from that, i love my Mortlachs and always have.
