A massive success as the island representative in Diageo's 'Classic Malts' series, Talisker 10yo's profile keeps increasing as more fans discover its intense coastal spicy, peaty character. A truly elemental malt.Tasting Notes (2)

Tasting Notes by Dave Broom for Whisky Advocate
Another that should need no introduction. The thing to look for in Talisker, as with all smoky whiskies, is sweetness that give the requisite balance to the drying effect of smoke. Underneath Talisker's smoke, which ain't as all-pervading as Lagavulin, is a sweet pear-like quality. When young there are notes of the land: heather, moor, sweet seaweed, and a finish that has a distinctive cracked black pepper hit.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Powerful peat-smoke with sea-water saltiness, the liquor of fresh oysters, a citrus sweetness.
A rich dried-fruit sweetness with clouds of smoke and strong barley-malt flavours, warming and intense. At the back of the mouth is an explosion of pepper.
Huge, long, warming peppery finish with an appetising sweetness.

Very interesting whisky.
To be honest I am an absolute Ardbeg and Lag man...so tried this for fun... and wow i was surprised! in a good way...obviously not as smokey but what a good overall balanced dram....enjoyed it and will absolutely be adding it for those "lighter" evenings...worth the money
Fairly well balanced, nice sweet, smoke and pear marriage, finish lingers and so whilst I am a mad smoke man and lean towards the Ardbergs and Glenturret..this is definately worth the money as a decent back up...enjoy
Favorite scotch whisky. So well balanced. Great nose, fantastic full mouth feel, and long finish. Not as peaty as the Islay malts, but peaty enough, thoroughly satisfying and very easy to drink.
Smoky, earthy, solid and worth the price.
