A massive success as the island representative in Diageo's 'Classic Malts' series, Talisker 10yo's profile keeps increasing as more fans discover its intense coastal spicy, peaty character. A truly elemental malt.Tasting Notes (2)
Always a benchmark. 90 points. Serge Valentin, whiskyfun.com

Tasting Notes by Dave Broom for Whisky Advocate
Another that should need no introduction. The thing to look for in Talisker, as with all smoky whiskies, is sweetness that give the requisite balance to the drying effect of smoke. Underneath Talisker's smoke, which ain't as all-pervading as Lagavulin, is a sweet pear-like quality. When young there are notes of the land: heather, moor, sweet seaweed, and a finish that has a distinctive cracked black pepper hit.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Powerful peat-smoke with sea-water saltiness, the liquor of fresh oysters, a citrus sweetness.
A rich dried-fruit sweetness with clouds of smoke and strong barley-malt flavours, warming and intense. At the back of the mouth is an explosion of pepper.
Huge, long, warming peppery finish with an appetising sweetness.

I have been a long time fan of Talisker's selection of wonderful single malts. This latest offering is right up there.... ..in fact in my opinion...... there!! From the time the sweetness (tangarine) to me, the peppery infusion and the classic trademark salty overtones, combine to mesmerise and absolutely delight!! This is a winner!!!
I was hesitant to give this five stars 8 months ago.No such qualms now. This a benchmark dram.Absolute perfection
I was a Laphroaig man, but this is a bit softer, and I think I prefer this nowadays. Smoky and aniseedy. I have tried Talisker Storm and Skye, but they taste a bit thin compared to this.
Beautiful! Took me to the coast, coconutey nose and drink is absolutely amazing with mid tone smoke, salt and pepper.
A fantastic full flavoured rich and velvety whisky. This is better than most 12 year old's on the market. One of my favorites and I always have a bottle in. For the price there is very little to match it (maybe Glenlivet 12).
