Product Description
The second whisky in the Balblair Collection, Balblair 15 Year Old is a full-bodied, velvety single malt that has been matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in first-fill Spanish oak butts. This creates a rich, sweet whisky with spicy aromas of honey, gingerbread and prunes. The palate is velvety-smooth and full of dark chocolate, tropical fruit and warm spice notes.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
-
Tasting notes by Billy Abbott (The Whisky Exchange)
-
Nose
Baked apples with cinnamon and raisins at first. The raisins are juicy, the cinnamon sweet and the apples just sharp enough to balance everything. Spiced biscuits develop, with runny-honey sweetness and set honey complexity.
-
Palate
Garibaldi biscuits and barley sugar sweetness lead to toffee apples, cinnamon gobstoppers, aniseed balls and brown sugar. Sponge cake develops, heavily dosed with mixed peel, and hints of barrel char and spicy oak build around the edges.
-
Finish
Apple skins and nutmeg fade to leave damp oak and apple jam.

This is quality dram. I got it when it was on offer, I am so gald I did. I had this with a drop of water and let it breathe for about 15 minutes. This opened the tasting note, developed the flavour. A nice drink to open the evening if you are having more than one. I would highly recommend this bottle.

It was a birthday present not opened, but the presentation excellent
-
Absolutely fantastic. I have had a few bottles of this now and could not imagine not having one in. I have shared this whiskey with quite a few people, whiskey drinkers and non whiskey drinkers alike and have yet to have someone not enjoy it.
-
A very classy whisky - will have to have another bottle of this soon!
-
Immaculate dram, open and expressive palate with smooth to pleasing gradual long fade finish allowing a pleasing exponential curve of joy.
