Don Julio Real Anejo Tequila
Product Description

The daddy of the Don Julio family - this is Real as in Madrid. Not as lively as the Don Julio 1942, but with an extra layer of super-smooth texture. Stunning vanilla, toasty oak spices and peppery agave character. I make no apologies for saying that this is the 'Real' deal.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by TF

    • N

Hot buttered toast, creamy vanilla, cream soda, asparagus (?), pepper, bruschetta, nutmeg, tweed, lots of toasty oak, cocoa, Caramac bar, white Toblerone. There's quite a lot going on here. Remarkably, this nose is almost reminiscent of an aged white burgundy at times.

    • P

Quite extraordinarily smooth, seems to just melt somewhere around the back of the mouth, leaving the tongue tingling with gentle agave pepper. The creamy texture is as luscious and luxurious as one would expect of the pinnacle of tequila-making. In a word - Fabulous.

    • F

A long, spicy, sweet caress for the tastebuds. Demands a refill.

    • Comment

Phew! One of the sexiest tequilas this reviewer has tried. Absurdly sensual, with depth, and oodles of creamy complexity. A feast for the senses.

a super impressive stunning drink...this one beats several high end whiskies & cognacs which are selling @ three-four times higher price...

  • Gavin Donovan

its a drink that is a enjoyment when left alone . i find it very smooth not to be over indulged in as it is expensive (but worth it ) and the character has to be enjoyed to the extent that no real appreciated drinker would enjoy ! if you have this required taste like real men do you will enjoy this dram more than any other beverage on the market . a must try ... a must buy. only to be drank under wifes supervision , NOT !!!!!!

  • Rune Mariboe

I agree 100% with TF's tasting notes; this is brilliant! I can't tell whether this or the Ocho single estate (at $200 in DK) is the most exciting tequila I've had, but this one is definitely worth a try (even at $60+ a glass:). Joshua, this isn't a blanco :)

  • JOSHUA GREENWOOD

A TRUE TOUCH OF CLASS. SMOOTH, WITH A SLIGHTLY CITRUS TASTE, NOT COMMON IN THE WORLD OF BLANCO'S.
