El Rayo Reposado Tequila has spent seven months resting in ex-whiskey barrels, creating a soft, smooth character with notes of caramel, almonds and vanilla mingling with clean, vegetal agave. El Rayo takes its name from Mexican folklore, with tells of the great bolt of lightning – El Rayo –striking the blue agave in the hills near Tequila. When a local campesino saw the burning glow in the distance, he followed it until he discovered the cooked agave and Tequila was born.

Took this to a festival and went down a storm with friends. not completely sippable but no lime or salt needed at all, lovely flavour that you can really taste and might be the first tequila that didnt leave my head hurting the next day. Also tried with a tonic and again, delicious and hangover free results.

Unbelievably silky reposado. It's not overly sweet - exactly how it should be.
