A full-bodied, silky-smooth single malt from Glenmorangie, finished in a Quinta Ruban port cask, creating a rich chocolate flavour. Gentle aromas of Seville oranges and walnut build into rich dark chocolate, sandalwood and spicy pepper. The palate initially offers notes of mint chocolate, walnuts and orange develop into Turkish delight and summer flowers.

A very noble dram I would say. A distinctive Highland malt with an air of Port sweetness; but not overwhelming like sherry cask intrusive raisin sweetness. Quinta Ruban flavour reminds me of a white peach with a bit of powdered sugar. The description calls it Turkish delight and I'd quite agree. Waves of something spicy both on the nose and palate - at first I thought of nutmeg and cocoa, in a couple of months, finishing the bottle, I found a cumin note. The main thing to remember about this malt is that each dram needs to 'rest' in your glass for at least 20 minutes as at first alchohol feels surprisingly harsh in this whisky. But all in all a splendid Scotch.
Amazing rich flavor. The best Scotch i tried.
I get the flavor of the Glenmorangie 10 year, but lighter. Even lighter yet, than the 12 year sherry expression. Aged in an overly diluted port cask, that leaves an indescript question mark as to whether I am tasting wood, smoke or remnants of port? Or something altogether different from the malting process? Sigh. . . I will never know. What I do know, is it always leaves me kicking myself for not buying the 12 year or better yet, the 10 year.
This one really is silky smooth, it has really drawn me in, I will definitely be purchasing this whisky again once it is finished
If you really like a port finish, you'll really like this whisky. If a port finish doesn't suit you, this whisky won't either. It was a sweet, chocolaty taste and even presents a bit of bite as it goes down. It's nowhere near as good as the older Glenmorangie offerings, but certainly has it's own unique taste.
