A full-bodied, silky-smooth single malt from Glenmorangie, finished in a Quinta Ruban port cask, creating a rich chocolate flavour. Gentle aromas of Seville oranges and walnut build into rich dark chocolate, sandalwood and spicy pepper. The palate initially offers notes of mint chocolate, walnuts and orange develop into Turkish delight and summer flowers.

I get the flavor of the Glenmorangie 10 year, but lighter. Even lighter yet, than the 12 year sherry expression. Aged in an overly diluted port cask, that leaves an indescript question mark as to whether I am tasting wood, smoke or remnants of port? Or something altogether different from the malting process? Sigh. . . I will never know. What I do know, is it always leaves me kicking myself for not buying the 12 year or better yet, the 10 year.
This one really is silky smooth, it has really drawn me in, I will definitely be purchasing this whisky again once it is finished
If you really like a port finish, you'll really like this whisky. If a port finish doesn't suit you, this whisky won't either. It was a sweet, chocolaty taste and even presents a bit of bite as it goes down. It's nowhere near as good as the older Glenmorangie offerings, but certainly has it's own unique taste.
After a year of smokey single malts I treated myself to this for smoothness. Firstly it’s nose really brings forward the port casks the sip is smooth and has the combination of the blends of orange mint and chocolate the aftertaste of the full flavour is the winner for me it brings everything together.
Almost up there with the Glendronach 15 Tawny Port Finish, the advantage here being you can actually buy it. Really balanced with a medium long after taste. This is the good stuff.
