At 14-years-old, it shows the combination of tropical fruit, chocolate-y richness and dried fruits that have made Foursquare a favourite of rum drinkers the world over.
Pioneering rum
The Seale family has been in the rum business since the 1920s, but they only began distilling in 1996 when fourth generation owner Richard Seale installed stills in the disused Foursquare sugar factory. Since then, he has worked to make rums that compete in the same weight class as any Cognac or malt whisky. The distillery’s flagship Doorly’s range – named for Richard’s long-time business partner – is a fantastic introduction to Barbados rum.

Last December 2021 my wife and I cruised to the Southern Caribbean. During the cruise we toured the Foursuares Rum Distillery. The tour was interesting and great. We tasted several rums that were fantastic. So fantastic I brought a few bottles back, one of them was the 14 year Doorly to share with my friends in Tucson, Arizona. This is one of the best rum i have ever tasted.
