From Irish bottler Hinch, this 5-year-old Double Wood has been matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished for at least a year in virgin American oak barrels. It is a smooth, sweet whiskey with notes of vanilla, cinnamon and oak spice throughout the palate.

With a little water, this becomes silky, fragrant and a little spicy. Beautiful stuff for a 5 year old. Finish is caramalised toffee with a little banana. It's a steal at this price. My rating based on price & age.

Fairly simple nose, spirity oaky finish, some breadth, forward acidity on the tip of the tongue, yet to place its value in the supply chain, more time in cask to be encouraged.
