Product Description

Made in 2008 at Glen Moray distillery, this Speyside single malt was matured in a single first-fill American oak hogshead, before being bottled in 2019 for The Whisky Exchange's 20th Anniversary. A sweet, fruity whisky, it offers aromas of candied apple, greengages and cherries, and the palate holds notes of peach, apricot and vanilla custard.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Candy necklaces, blossom honey and freshly-sliced apples. Gentle toffee and fleshy-fruit notes develop: white peach, muscat grape and ripe pear. Butter-icing sweetness sits behind along with hints of lightly-spiced vanilla sponge.

    • Palate:

Rich, with a rounded mouthfeel. Fruit dominates, with pie-filling apples and pears sprinkled with golden sugar and cinnamon, and served with a side of peach and apricot compote. Hints of leafy mint and liquorice root develop. Buttered toast and polished oak hide at the back.

    • Finish

Apple and pear skin melt away to leave buttered fruit loaf and chocolate Hob Nob biscuits.

    • Comments

A fruity Glen Moray that really shows off the distillery's character.

  • Dawn Davies MW, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Yellow cherries, candied apple, plums and greengages

    • Palate

Juicy and ripe, with peaches, apricots, sweet spice and hints of vanilla custard

    • Finish

Long and fruity, with notes of toasted brioche and green banana

  • Master Distiller, Graham Coull

    • Appearance

      Antique gold

    • Experience

One for the purists. The ex-bourbon cask complements the spirit and allows the trued character Glen Moray to shine through.

    • Parting gift

A whisky comfort blanket! Soothing, warm and reassuring.
