Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and European oak sherry casks, this Indian single malt from Rampur has a rich, complex character. Aromas of tropical fruits mingle with sweet malt, oak, honey and dried fruits on the nose, and the palate offers notes of dark berries, dried fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg and salted caramel.

Lovely whiskey, was apprehensive at first as India is not known for its whiskey prowess but this is a fine product. Will try more if this is not constantly out of stock!

Color - amber Nose - burnt orange peel and vanilla, creme brûlée, maybe a hint of fresh grass, eucalyptus Taste - burnt orange peel opening into more citrus, black pepper, floral, lavender. a little peat but not much. Finish - short - lingering citrus and floral notes, earth and soil. Enjoyable. Way closer to a Suntory Whisky than to a Highland or Islay. Though not much smokiness or peat. Actually, hardly any.
